Established in 1954, Western Speedway is the oldest speedway in Western Canada. The 4/10-mile, paved, oval race track has a first-class, steel-structured grandstand, with seating for 3,000 fans along the front straight-a-way. There is also a paved parking lot that can accommodate over 1,500 cars right on the Western Speedway property! Western Speedway hosts races for approximately 12 classes on Saturday Nights throughout its eight month season, starting in April. Western Speedway’s amazing, fast-paced entertainment is attracting more fans than ever before through featured events and spectacular stunts. Drag racing takes place on selected Sunday afternoons and Friday nights, along the 500-foot strip incorporated into the front straight-a-way. Under the grandstands, Western Speedway offers a full menu concession counter, a pizza booth with fresh Ali Baba Pizza, and a candy booth equipped with its own cotton candy machine and slushy dispenser. There is also a fully stocked souvenir booth with awesome gift ideas and memorabilia for each race. Western Speedway is home to the Victoria Auto Racing Hall of Fame which features area auto racing history going back some seventy-five years. Each February, a ceremony is held to induct the newest members to the Victoria Auto Racing Hall of Fame.
