Vancouver ABFM to celebrate 30 years of British classic cars...
Dubbed “The Greatest Show on British Wheels,” the Vancouver All British Field Meet (ABFM) will host more than 500 classic British-built vehicles and motorcycles on the Great Lawn of the world renowned VanDusen Botanical Garden, while celebrating its 30th year, May 16, 2015.
More than a static car show, the 2015 Vancouver ABFM begins on the Friday of the Victoria Day weekend with a kick-off Friday Pub Night reception (May 15, 2015), where entrants enjoy a meet and greet, stories are told and hospitality flows.
On Saturday (May 16, 2015) the assembly of cars are displayed at the VanDusen Botanical Garden for “The Greatest Show on British Wheels.”
On Sunday (May 17, 2015) after the VanDusen Car show, approximately 120 classic cars and 15-plus motorcycles assemble at Park Royal South, North Vancouver, for the start of the traditional All Brit Run (ABR 2015) to Whistler’s Olympic Village, when owners have an opportunity to tour their cars on one of the world’s most scenic drives, followed by a display in the town centre from 11am to 3:30pm. Supported by the Whistler Tourism Association, the All Brit RunVAN WHIST PLAQUE 2015 copy has grown over the past 22 years to become a key event for more than 3,000 Whistler visitors and residents on the popular Victoria Day weekend.
A classic event is born:
It all began on the Victoria Day weekend in 1985 when two classic car enthusiasts Doug Lupton and Steve Diggins, with the support of Vancouver Jaguar Land Rover dealer MCL Motor Cars, held a show ‘n shine event for some 30 cars in the dealership’s Burrard street parking lot.
All British Classic Car Show, Swap Meet and Car Corral. Vendors and Food concession. Largest show in Western Canada with 600 classic's and motorcycles on display.
